Dr Gerry Devlin is a strong proponent of to collaboration to improve equity in cardiovascular disease. He is an experienced general cardiologist with a special interest in the prevention and management of coronary artery disease, hypertension and heart failure. His research has been published in 90 papers  Gerry is part of The new Hauora Tairawhiti’s Healthy Hearts — Save 1000 Lives initiative, which will provide an innovative approach across primary and secondary care to address cardiovascular disease prevention and management. Gerry believes New Zealand is leading the world with the development of new cardiovascular disease-risk assessment and treatment guidelines. He will play an integral role in enabling Mātai’s engagement in heart research, in a community that has one of the country’s highest death rates from heart disease and disorders.
